All system parameters that are offered in Fabasoft app.test are listed in the table below. All currently available system parameters are displayed on the "System Parameters" tab of the "Editor Area" view.

Adaptor.fscpluginavailable

This parameter contains true, if the Fabasoft Folio Client is currently available, otherwise false.

Adaptor.fscpluginversion

This parameter contains the version number of the currently active Fabasoft Folio Client. If the client is not available, this parameter is not defined.

Adaptor.pluginsenabled

This parameter contains true, if the Sequence was started with the option BrowserSettings.pluginsenabled (Enable Plug-ins in the browser settings tab of the run dialog), otherwise false.

Adaptor.version

This parameter contains the version number of the Fabasoft app.test Adaptor itself.

Agent.hostname

This parameter contains the Fabasoft app.test Agent host name when starting the Fabasoft app.test Recorder or the Fabasoft app.test Player.

Agent.port

This parameter contains the Fabasoft app.test Agent port when starting the Fabasoft app.test Recorder or the Fabasoft app.test Player.

certificate

This parameter contains the path and/or the filename that has been entered into the Certificate field when starting the Fabasoft app.test Recorder resp. Player.

Client.name

This parameter contains the name of the client (which means the browser) that is used.
Possible values:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari

Client.osname

This parameter contains the name of the operating system where the Fabasoft app.test Client Adaptor is running.
Possible values:

  • Windows 8
  • Windows 7
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows XP
  • Linux
  • Apple OS X

Client.ostype

In here the type of the operating system saved in the Client.osname parameter is saved.
Possible values:

  • win32
    (all Windows platforms)
  • gtk
    (all Linux platforms)
  • cocoa
    (Apple OS X platform)

Client.osversion

This parameter contains the operating system version.

Possible values:

  • 5.1
    (Windows XP)
  • 6.0
    (Windows Vista)
  • 6.1
    (Windows 7)
  • 6.2
    (Windows 8)
  • 6.3
    (Windows 8.1)

Client.version

This parameter contains the version of the current browser.

Note: The version string may consist of multiple parts/browser components (e.g. browser version and underlying WebKit version in Safari).

Client.architecture

This parameter contains the architecture (x86 or x64).

connector

This parameter contains the connector that is currently used, e.g. FSC for Fabasoft Folio or Fabasoft eGov-Suite.

Context.domain

This parameter is set if the domain is overwritten when Fabasoft app.test switches to another context. This means the parameter contains the domain used within the current context (only if a context switch has taken place).

Context.password

This parameter contains the password used in the current context (switch).

Context.certificate

This parameter contains the certificate used in the current context (switch).

Context.username

In this parameter the user is saved that is used in the current context (switch)

datapath

The datapath parameter contains the path to the current project.
Note: Better use projectpath instead because the datapath parameter will be deleted in one of the next versions.

datenow

In this parameter the current date is saved. This system parameter is updated regularly while recording or running a test. This means if the date changes during a test run, the value of the datenow parameter is updated, too.

datenow.day

The current day (date) is saved in the system parameter datenow.day.

datenow.month

The current month (number, not the name) is saved in this parameter.

datenow.MMM

The first three letters of the current month (name) is saved in this parameter.

datenow.MMMM

The name of the current month is saved in this parameter.

datenow.year

The current year is saved in this parameter.

datenow.yy

The last two digits of the current year is saved in this parameter.

errortext

If an error occurred while testing, the error message is saved in the system parameter errortext. If currently no error is displayed, the parameter is set to "".
Note: This parameter is for example needed for using wild cards when checking error messages.

exportdocs

In this parameter the path to the "ExportDocs" folder of the current project is saved.

fscbuildnr

This parameter contains the exact build number that is currently tested.

fscerror

If an error occured the parameter is set to true, otherwise (if currently no error is displayed, e.g. in Fabasoft Folio) it is set to false.

fscversion

Here the version of the tested product is saved whereas in the fscbuildnr parameter the whole build number is saved.

fscsuitename

Here the suite name of the tested product is saved, e.g. “Fabasoft Folio Cloud” or “Fabasoft Folio Compliance”.

fscwarning

If a warning occurred, the parameter is set to true, otherwise (if currently no warning is displayed) it is set to false.

htmllang

In this parameter the language code of the html document is saved.

importdocs

In this parameter the path to the "ImportDocs" folder of the current project is saved.

langpath

In this parameter the path to the language files is saved. This path can either be defined in the general preferences of Fabasoft app.test (see chapter “Fabasoft app.test Preferences”) or when starting the Fabasoft app.test Recorder resp. Player.

Login.domain

This parameter contains the domain that was entered when starting the Fabasoft app.test Recorder resp. Player ("Start Recorder" dialog).

Login.password

This parameter contains the password that was entered when starting the Fabasoft app.test Recorder resp. Player ("Start Recorder" dialog).

Login.certificate

This parameter contains the user certificate that was entered when starting the Fabasoft app.test Recorder resp. Player ("Start Recorder" dialog).

Login.username

This parameter contains the login user name that was entered when starting the Fabasoft app.test Recorder resp. Player ("Start Recorder" dialog).

password

The password parameter contains the password that is currently used.
Note: This parameter is deprecated and will be replaced by Login.password, Sequence.password and Context.password.

In this parameter the name of the current project is saved.

projectpath

This parameter contains the path to the current project in the local file system.

reportfile

This parameter contains the path to the current report file in the local file system. It is only defined if a report is written.

resources

This parameter contains the path to the "Resources" folder of the current project (where the language files and the certificates are saved).

run

If the test is executed several times (by defining it in the "Run" dialog), this parameter contains the number of the current test run..

Run.address

This parameter contains the address where the test is recorded or executed.

Run.clienttype

This parameter contains the client type (which means the web browser), e.g. Mozilla Firefox.

Run.scope

This parameter contains the scope used in the test run in a four-digit number.

Run.webserver

This parameter contains the web server that is defined when starting the Fabasoft app.test Recorder or the Fabasoft app.test Player.

This parameter also contains the scope in a four-digit number but is deprecated. Better use Run.scope instead.

This parameter contains the iteration of the current sequence.

sequencename

This parameter contains the name of the current sequence. If no sequence exists in the current context, the test name will be used instead.

Sequence.domain

In this parameter the domain is saved that is used in the current sequence. The parameter is set only if the user is in the context of a sequence.

Sequence.password

The password saved in this system parameter is used in the sequence.

Sequence.certificate

This parameter contains the user certificate used in the sequence.

Sequence.username

The user name used for carrying out the sequence is saved in this system parameter.

testname

This parameter contains the name of the test currently executed.

timenow

This parameter contains the current time which means the value of the parameter is consequently updated.

timenow.hour

The hour of the current time is saved in this system parameter.

timenow.minute

The minute of the current time is saved in this system parameter.

timenow.second

The second of the current time is saved in this system parameter.

timestamp

The timestamp parameter is a combination of the current date and the current time. This parameter does not contain ":" because so it can be used for naming files in the file system (e.g. reports).

url

This parameter contains the address where the test is executed.
Note: As this system parameter is deprecated better use Run.address instead.

This parameter contains the domain overridden by the surrounding use case.

UseCase.password

This parameter contains the password overridden by the surrounding use case.

UseCase.username

This parameter contains the user name overridden by the surrounding use case.

This parameter contains the iteration of the current use case.

usecasename

This parameter contains the name of the current use case. It is only defined if a use case exists in the current context.

This parameter contains the login name of the current user.
Note: As the parameter is deprecated use Login.username, Sequence.username or Context.username instead.

In here the domain of the user is saved that is used for logging on.

If a warning occurred while testing, the warning message is saved in the system parameter warningtext. If currently no warning is displayed, the parameter is set to "".

This parameter contains the web server that is defined when starting the Fabasoft app.test Recorder or the Fabasoft app.test Player.

This parameter contains the path to the local workspace directory of the test run. It is used in a CI environment in combination with the Workspace statement to synchronize files back to the profile job executor.
